APPLIED RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES SOLO SERIES

TORONTO, ON (May 1, 2024) Applied Research and Technology, a division of Yorkville Sound, has released the new Solo Series: a trio of all-analog 1U rackmount processers that premiered at the 2024 Winter NAMM show. The series offers versatile features, real tube sound, and affordable price points that continue the ART tradition of designing creative audio solutions that are accessible for any musician.

The SOLO MPA Multivoice Preamplifier lets users blend between a pristine solid state and warm tube signal path, and tailor the preamp to their mics with fully variable impedance. A low-cut filter and tilt EQ provide additional tone shaping, and the preamp also features phantom power, phase reversal, and an instrument input for use as a DI.

The Solo VLA Multivoice Tube/Opto Compressor offers smooth optical and punchy FET modes, so users can select the best compression characteristics to compliment any source, and a blend control that mixes the original and processed signals for parallel compression.

The Solo Studio Multivoice Channel Strip combines a preamp and compressor into a single streamlined enclosure. While it omits the variable impedance, filtering, and blend options that are exclusive to the MPA and VLA, it combines the essential features of both and offers switchable low-cut filtering, switchable tube and solid-state modes, and an insert point between the preamp and compressor stages for additional flexibility.

“The Solo Series launches with three new secret weapons for studio professionals and hobbyists to enhance their recordings,” says Jeff Cowling, Yorkville Sound’s VP of Sales & Marketing. “Each Solo processor provides a variety of sound-shaping options in a space-saving, affordable, and intuitive package.”

The Solo MPA and Solo VLA are now shipping, and the Solo Studio will ship in early summer 2024. To learn more, please contact your local ART dealer.
