C3

Large-Diagphragm Condenser Microphone

Find A Dealer

The C3 is the most versatile microphone in the ART C-Series lineup.

Like the C1, its a large-diaphragm condenser mic with a wide frequency response, and it features the switchable input pad and high-pass filter from the C2.

It adds selectable pickup patterns, which can be set to cardioid, omni, or figure-8. Cardioid is the most directional, with limited sensitivity on the sides and strong rear rejection. Omni picks up sound equally in every direction. Its a great choice for recording ensembles with a single mic, or for fully capturing the ambience of a recording space. Figure-8 picks up sound in front of and behind the mic while rejecting sound from the sides. It can be used for recording a single instrument while still picking up room reflections, for recording two sources simultaneously, or for mid-side recording with a preamp like the Pro MPA II.

The C3 is protected by a precision-tooled body and dent-resistant stainless steel mesh windscreen, and comes with a shockmount and carrying case. Its extended feature set provides practical and creative options to help you get inspiring sound in any space.
